Paris.
The sun is caressing between the curtains and a slight breeze that moves matted hair on the pillow. The sound of an accordion and the crisp scent of a baguette.
Paris that always greets me as a wandering daughter, that after visited the intricacies twists and turns of the world and the soul, always comes back in that one place called “home”.
In a period in which time doesn’t stop and the city never sleeps, to feel embraced and warmed become priceless moments.
During Paris Fashion Week I felt so at any time when I was in my residence in Paris at Hotel Louison.
Hotel Louison (which recently changed name from Hotel Aviatic) is located in the 6th arrondissement, between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Montparnasse, at 105 Rue de Vaugirard. Louison is the new name that more closely embodies the identity of the hotel, its real history and its roots immerged in the contemporary Left Bank.
Completely renovated, the hotel has 42 cozy rooms that bring to its former glory this ancient historic and royal dwelling. In a residence of the royal family, which housed the illegitimate children of Louis XIV, the Hôtel Louison brings you in the true and unique chic and refined “French” universe. In the sacral point where tradition meets modernity, are seen exposing sculpted busts, period moldings, designer furniture, graphic fabrics and Jouy canvas. The final effect is modern but it still retains the aura of historical playing the card of elegance and sobriety. As we remember the story, it was on Rue de Vaugirard that the Marquise de Maintenon had her home to raise children of King Louis XIV, in secret. The latter has abandoned his preferred “La Montespan” for this woman with a big heart and human values.
Only a few steps from Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the hotel enjoys the lively atmosphere of this neighborhood that has always been very popular with artists, writers, philosophers and musicians. The rich cultural history of this part of the Left Bank, as well as its incomparable atmosphere are visible in the background of the hotel to define its identity that is based on sophistication, style and modernity. An eco-friendly hotel, as Louison is about to get Ecolabel certification and has adopted an environmentally responsible approach, installing equipment and establishing procedures to limit the impact on the environment daily.
Luxury, obsessive attention to detail, an atmosphere suffused with soft touches that speak and tell a truly Paris while we wander in the breakfast room enjoying a macaroon or when in a private room, we identify ourselves in a regal era, sipping a cup of tea lying on the couch.
Thanks Louison Hotel for being the perfect house in my town.
