"A-lo-ha" is the word used to greet and bless each new meeting in Hawaii, a word now popular all over the world, but with a complex, ancient, deeply spiritual meaning. I realized that the first time I heard it pronounced in Hawaiian: each syllable is marked and articulated with all the solemnity and respect required by an ancient and proud tradition. Aloha does not mean, in fact, just a greeting, but also "love", "peace, "sharing", "mercy ".
